Retrieval Services

iicorr provide a safe and efficient means of installing and removing corrosion and erosion monitoring devices fitted to both the hydraulic and mechanical access systems on pressurised pipe work up to pressures of 6000psi / 420bar. Monitoring devices include corrosion coupons, ER probes, LPR probes and sand detection probes. This is carried out using on-line retrieval equipment consisting primarily of a retrieval tool and isolation valve.

There are two retrieval systems used to carry out this task, the traditional mechanical system and the patented CorrOcean manufactured hydraulic system. iicorr have vast experience and impeccable safety record using both of these retrieval systems, carrying out works on a frequent basis, world wide for the most of the major oil & gas operators.

Why use iicorr?

As mentioned previously iicorr are experienced using both access systems, however the Hydraulic access system has many benefits over the traditional mechanical system and is the preferred method of on-line access for many operators carrying out new installations.

Some of the benefits include:

  • No potential for Plug seizing during removal / installation process.
  • Simplified operation.
  • Operator training - requires less experience and training for operation.
  • Retrieval tool is more lightweight reducing manual handling issues.
Less access space required as the moving parts of the hydraulic retriever are internal as opposed to the mechanical retriever which has a telescoping barrel requiring in general twice the access space.

Typical Applications
  • Single / Double isolation valves
  • Mechanical or Hydraulic tools
  • Up to 10,000 PSI systems
